Charles “Chuck” Rimmer,  of Ottawa Lake, MI and formerly of Bedford Twp., MI, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014 in Regency Hospital of Toledo.  Born September 25, 1940 in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Charles H. and Gertrude H. (Brown) Rimmer.  He married Linda K. Sherman on June 21, 1986.  Chuck moved from Erie when he was 7 and enrolled at Bedford Public Schools, graduating in 1959.  He was a standout on the football field and basketball court.  He was inducted into the Bedford High School Hall of Fame in 2003. An accomplished brick layer, he was owner and operator of Rimmer Masonry for over 30 years before going to work for Bedford Public Schools.  He retired in 1997.  Chuck received the Monroe County Minute Man award for community service. The original voice of Bedford Football for 31 years, he also announced Bedford Wrestling and Basketball. He was a member of Bedford Alliance Church and formerly of Morocco United Brethren Church. He was well known for playing the piano, singing and loved watching his grandchildren compete in their sporting events.

He and Linda made a family of 6 children; Heidi Hale, C.J. Rimmer, Jr.,  Tori Ellis, Kelly (Kurt) Huss, Roman (Shelly) Rimmer and Keri (Burton) Poehlman.  They have 9 grandchildren, Hailey Hale, Logan, Alexandra, and Mason Rimmer, Jaben Ellis, Raelyn and Mitchell Huss, and Hiram and Jackson Poehlman. He had 1 great granddaughter, Hannah Goss. Chuck is survived by 1 sister, Naomi Tolly-Dye. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Cameron.

Visitation will be from 2-9 pm Monday, June 23, 2014 at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 11:00 am.  Pastor Robert Hinz, officiating.  Memorials may be made to Bedford Wrestling or the family. www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
